Step 01
Your Photo Session
We meet at a spot you love — the beach, a park, your backyard, or somewhere that means something to you and your dog.
Your dog stays on a leash the whole time so they're safe. Don't worry — I edit the leash out of every photo. You'll never see it in the final pictures.
On-location sessions run about 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Studio sessions are about 30 to 60 minutes. We go at your dog's pace — no rushing.
Step 02
Your Image Reveal
After the session, we meet in the studio in Rockland or hop on a Zoom call. I'll show you all your best photos in a slideshow.
We'll pick your favorites together and figure out what will look amazing in your home. Wall art? An album? Both? I'll help you decide.
We take cash, checks, and credit cards. After you order, your products are delivered to the studio or dropped off locally.

Step 03
Your Products Arrive
Your prints, frames, albums, or digital files arrive fully edited and ready to go. Wall art goes straight on the wall. Albums go right on the coffee table.
These aren't cheap prints. This is museum-quality artwork made to last decades. Most clients spend around $1,200 on their finished art.

Why are sessions priced at $195?
The $195 covers your time with Chris — the planning call, the session itself (45–90 minutes), and a proof gallery of 30–40 images to review and choose from. The full editing work — color grading, leash removal, retouching, and the rest — is then applied to each image you order as a digital file, print, or wall art piece. Pricing the session this way keeps it accessible to anyone who wants the photography experience, while letting you decide separately what artwork you want to invest in afterward. For a step-by-step look at what happens after the session — gallery delivery, image selection, ordering — see southshorepetphotography.com/blog/what-happens-after-your-dog-photo-session.
What does a typical client actually spend in total?
Most clients invest around $1,200 in finished artwork after their session. That usually breaks down as one larger wall piece (a framed print, canvas, or metal in the $400–$700 range) plus an album or box of prints (~$300–$500). Some clients order only the digital collection ($350). Some clients order a single signature print ($275). There is no minimum order — you decide what you love.
Are digital files included with the session fee?
No — digital files are sold separately. Every product order includes a low-resolution social media version of that image. Full-resolution digital collections start at $350 and are typically purchased alongside or in place of physical prints. This pricing structure is consistent with how nearly all professional portrait photographers in Massachusetts work.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. The session fee is paid up front to confirm your booking. Wall art and product orders over $500 can be split into 2–3 monthly payments — we discuss this at the image reveal. Cash, check, and all major credit cards are accepted.
What is the cancellation or rescheduling policy?
Sessions can be rescheduled at no cost with 48 hours notice. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the session fee, but it can be applied as credit toward a future session within 12 months. Memory sessions for sick or end-of-life dogs are exempt from this policy — they are always rescheduled flexibly.
Is there a travel fee?
Sessions within 5 miles of the Rockland studio have no travel fee. Sessions farther out — anywhere on the South Shore, North Shore, Cape Cod, or the Boston area — include a flat $50 travel fee. There is no per-mile pricing.
